One more sleep...

The beautiful "Niche" market is on again, starting tomorrow, and I can't wait to visit my friends little stores there and see all the goodies they have been staying up late to produce!! I can't imagine finding the time right now to sew, let alone sew for a 3 day market weeks out from Christmas....
Last market I was pretty pregnant and my sister, my girlfriend Bec, and I ohhhed and ahhhed over all the amazing makers we have here in our little neck of the woods. And as usual I talked and talked so my poor sister had to stop every two steps (while ALSO quite pregnant) but we spent all our dough and would you believe left with everything from hair accessories, to wine and flowers!
SO if you happen to be in my neighbourhood this weekend hop over to the Art Academy and check out the Niche market, but come visit me in the shop too, cause I'm back!!

Freshly baked from the USA we bring you Type Key - vintage type writer keys to wear! These gorgeous pieces have been lovingly handmade out of authentic antique type writer keys dating from the 1900's- 1940's

The keys, made from glass, celluloid and bakelight are carefully salvaged from unusable machines, and beautifully restored to create bespoke jewellery

The rings are fully adjustable on a sterling silver band to suit any finger- yay!

When love comes to town

welcome to the world Mr Arlo Finn Lancaster, who made his safe arrival on the 31st of August, 2009. We can't believe he is finally here!

Baby Love

You may or may not know that I had been keeping a secret...
A secret I tried to hide for five months so now my old secret I can no longer keep! So, if you had been wondering if my new, more rotund, figure was the result of spending the summer laying on the couch, eating cake wonder no more! There is as you may have guessed I have a little life hiding in there, and growing at a fairly restless pace! I am proudly now 23 weeks pregnant with our first baby (although we do have a furry baby named Finn) and so it seems fitting to share it with you along with some beautiful new pic's of the winter children's wear now in store

One thing leads to another

Its the perfect time for exploring my favourite online haunts today, there is a little rain out side and a promise of blueberry pancakes in the kitchen while I absorb absorb absorb!
So I wanted to share something I stumbled upon but first I have to say how seductive packaging can be! And in my experience in the store there's almost always two responses to something that is beautifully wrapped, or contained... Some are an instant lover of a gorgeous print (be it paper or fabric) and if they love the outside what's inside can be almost secondary! Others need to satisfy their curiosity by seeing inside the wrapping too, the outer visible part is not enough... I am the former type of consumer.
Like this Mast Brothers Chocolate (via Oh Joy! - thankyou) in my mind you just know that a chocolate wrapped inside such beautiful paper will taste melt in your mouth divine- who needs to sample!

So its been a while...
A long while.
And there's no excuse's just at some points life unfolds double time and before you blink it's 2009!!!! Crazy.
